Ethan Richey

I was born and raised in the Greater Los Angeles area. Son to an incredible guitarist, there was never a shortage of music to listen to, and by the age of 5, I had developed a love for the jazz guitar playing of legends like Barney Kessel and George Benson.

At the age of 16, I began playing guitar, taught by my father. I was enthralled, often staying up into the late hours of the night, practicing chords, rhythms, and scale shapes. As I grew older, I delved further into the music of the jazz greats while simultaneously developing an interest in heavy metal, alternative rock, and blues.

As I progressed, I began recognizing my enduring love for Film Music that I hadn't noticed before. Spending countless hours analyzing, studying, and listening to scores by the likes of John Williams, Howard Shore, Hans Zimmer, and more, it's safe to say it became an obsession. In 2022, I began my Master's Program in Film Scoring at Berklee and will graduate in 2023.

I am currently in several bands, including Lone Hill Avenue, jeb, Deep Sea Jelly, The Life Collective, and more.
