Wolfgang Basyuk

I’m originally from Ivano-Frankivsk, Ukraine, and I’m a software engineer and songwriter with a lot of experience in music composition. I started out playing in different bands in my hometown, where I got into music and had the chance to build some music engineering skills. Back in 2005, I was honored to receive the Chervona Ruta Award for Best Alternative Music for my Veselka Project, which was an important win for me.

In 2015, after moving to the USA for software engineering work, I brought my project back to life in Austin, recorded an EP, and got involved in the local music community by performing live. More recently, I’ve been focusing on composing music for award-winning short films and creating instrumental cues. In late 2021, I put out a collection of my compositions called "Basically Happy."
