David Conyard

David Conyard is an avid composer, producer and music teacher. He enjoys composing music for film, animation and theatre. He started out composing music through playing guitar, keyboards, singing and writing songs in several rock groups. He then studied music attaining a B.A. in applied music and M.A. in music technology. Since then he has composed music for several theatre productions, short films and also ventured into sound design for film. He works as a music teacher and aside from that spends his time working as a composer and sound designer. Most recently he composed music and sound design for indie horror film Repossession (2019), which won the viewers choice award at an Irish film festival. In 2020 he did sound design for horror film Expulsion through Screen Ireland, which was shown at international film festivals. In 2020 he also composed music and was the mix engineer through Peach & Basil production company called Unstuffed film short. David’s traits and experiences combine to create a musical language that is both raw and dramatically expressive. David retains an interest in traditional Classical, Electronic, and other popular genres but continuously pursues challenging opportunities and progressive methods of expression. David is actively seeking collaborations with film makers and animators.
