Brother Freeland
Murfreesboro, Tennessee
Dave Freeland: Before moving to Nashville I lived and made music in Pittsburgh, PA (Go Pens, Steelers and Bucos) for many years as well as other towns in PA, OH and CT. Married to loving and very patient wife Melinda. Two grown sons, Sean, a talented actor, writer and producer living in LA and Abe (and family) who live in TN. Abe is talented musically but has focused his career in the insurance world. My musically gifted granddaughter is a singer and songwriter. She is currently a member of the Franklin, TN and National Schools Or Rock.
Started my musical journey as a drummer, singer, songwriter and business agent/manager for the bands I played in. I recorded two albums with the Corbin-Hanner Band in Nashville, toured as the opening act for many Country stars. Had a song (If You see Kay) cut by Canadian rocker "April Wine" which was a single and the song's video was in heavy rotation on MTV at the time. My rock band, Brainchild, has been signed by Fervor Records (via TAXI!!) and will be releasing an "album" of vintage rock material recorded in the 70's and will drop in 2020.
Spent a number of years in the insurance world where I created and managed the national "Business Develop Center" with a staff of 18 working around the US> During that time I continued to write and record. I joined TAXI 4 years ago and will be attending my 5th Rally this year. I LOVE TAXI and all the great folks that work there as well as many great songwriter/musician folk I continue to meet as a result of being a TAXI member. I primarily write with my brother Roger who is a long term session singer in LA as well as a very talented songwriter, musician and producer. Our virtual band, "Brother Freeland" has been focused on SYNC for the last four years. I also write with two other very talented friends from Nashville, John Pearson and Jim Thacker and our virtual band is ThreeSun.
Here's to all of my many musical brethren and fellow dreamers. Music is the foundation of life and none of us are too young or too old to be part of it. Onward.
