Rowan Leach and Cody Carneiro

Rowan Leach is an indie-pop/rock artist from Toronto, Ontario. He was awarded a FACTOR artist development grant in 2023 for music production and performance. Growing up in the heart of Toronto, Rowan discovered his passion for music at a young age. Rowan was an integral part of various school bands and orchestras before endeavoring to create music of his own.
Rowan's story takes a unique twist at the age of 17. He made a decision that set him on an entirely different path in life: He joined the Canadian Army and became a cadet at the Royal Military College of Canada. This new chapter in his life led him to serve his country across the vast and diverse landscape of Canada, from Fredericton to Yellowknife to Kingston to Petawawa. These experiences added depth to his life story and infused his music with perspectives from music scenes across the country.
This is also where he met Cody Carneiro.

Cody Carneiro is a guitarist from the little-known town of Crampton, in Southern Ontario. He grew up with music being a constant in his life. Whether it was performing with his friends in a rock band, or playing clarinet in the school concert band, music was always there.
From the start, Cody had a degree of natural talent but also put in the work required to consistently win him the multiple music awards given by his high school. He had planned on pursuing a post-secondary education in music, but instead decided to serve his country and joined the Canadian Army.
This is a path that holds numerous physical and mental challenges but has been very rewarding. The Army also brought Cody and Rowan together. This allowed the two to combine their love for music and creating to form something they believe is truly kick ass.
