Growing up just outside of NYC, my earliest musical influences were listening to AM radio in the 1960's. The eclectic mix of music I was exposed to at a young age from bubble gum to singer/songwriters to Motown and of course rock and roll (particularly the Beatles) gave me a broad appreciation for the diversity of sounds. As a teenager, I got an acoustic guitar, learned a handful of chords and began my journey of playing, singing and ultimately writing songs.
Fast forward to the 1990's, I got married. In the process, I became very friendly with the band leader of our wedding band. He happened to have a recording studio and access to many great musicians. Suddenly, with an opportunity to record and have talented musicians to back me, I became motivated and excited to improve my original songs and record them professionally. And hence, my recording journey began. That was 20+ years ago. Today, I am a husband, a father, a retired teacher and still passionate about music and especially the struggle, the mystery and joy of songwriting.
