Eva Margolies

Asked to describe her greatest skill as a songwriter, Eva said, "Writing the hook. It is almost always the first thing I come up with."
After winning second prize in the American Songwriting Competition for her song, "Ain't No Easy Way to Say Goodbye," Eva was signed by MCA music as a staff writer. Her primary genres were R&B and pop and she had numerous recordings in this arena including "Save Me From Your Love," "Love Triangle," and "If You Feel the Need" by Candi Stanton. She then took a long break from the industry but used her talent as a hook writer to conceive of and have seven books published by the majors including Doubleday and MacMillan Press.
Now, after this hiatus, Eva is back into songwriting. Her primary genres are pop, Latin music and Adult Easy Listening. Her song, "Butterfly" (co-written with Julian Cassia and Andres Quintero), won for Best Pop Song in the Song Door International Songwriting Competition. Her song "Ya No Mas" co-written with Kelly Cantoral, was a finalist in John Lennon International Songwriting Competition. (2014.) A number of her songs have been licensed on a non-exclusive basis.
