GRAMMY Award-winning composer/producer/guitarist Charles Michael Brotman composes in a wide range of genres, although he is best known for recordings that feature acoustic and nylon sting guitars. His recordings have reached the top 10 on the national radio charts in the Smooth Jazz and New Age categories, and in 2005 his ‘Slack Key Guitar” vol 2 CD debuted at #1 on the Billboard World Chart, and also climbed to #1 on the Billboard New Age Chart. His productions have garnered multiple regional music awards and four Grammy nominations.

Brotman composes and produces music at his Lava Tracks Recording Studio in Kamuela on the Big Island of Hawaii (www.lavatracks.com). In addition to record production, he produces for music libraries, advertising agencies, and film/TV sync. His compositions are heard worldwide on radio, film, and TV (Oprah, Dateline, Entertainment Tonight, Saturday Night Live, etc…). He has been an active member and Board member of the Pacific Northwest Chapter of NARAS (National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences), and is currently president of the Hawaii Songwriting Festival.
