Kimi Kent

Kimi Kent is a storyweaving singer-songwriter with a sound rooted in the deep heart of Texas. Kent sets herself apart as a singer-songwriter characterized by her ability to channel the musicians she who influenced her, like Fleetwood Mac, CSNY, Sheryl Crow, Patsy Cline, and Janis Joplin, into her own authentic tales of life, love, and heartbreak.

Growing up she was surrounded by musicians of all ages and backgrounds, including talented writers, players, and singers who made rock and roll, country, blues, southern rock, latin, and folk music. These influences helped Kent resolve to be a musician at a young age, dropping out of high school to pursue her dream. In the years following she experienced mentorship under Grammy nominated writers and artists, and grew the confidence and drive to explore her own distinct sound and spirit.

However, even after working on projects with these talented producers Kent felt her music fell short of what she knew her sound could be. Knowing she needed something new, Kent connected with her now-current producer Philip Aaron Creamer. Creamer brought in musical greats from The Texas Gentleman and Electrophunk to support the recording, and release of Wayward Child EP within the year. The EP is fully owned in all parts by Kimi herself.

Following the release of the Wayward Child EP, Kimi played nearly a 100 shows per year for the following 6 years, honing her live performance chops and fostering her deep love of sharing her music with larger and larger crowds. From festivals to hole in the wall bars, she makes any crowd feel her story through song.

Kimi is currently writing the final songs for her first full length album and hoping to find a home with a visionary label.
