Michael (Amoriello) Michnya

Michael Amoriello has been writing and performing on the guitar and piano since he was a teen. He got serious about songwriting in 1985, and has a unique musical style reminiscent of the folk-pop of Cat Stevens, Jim Croce and James Taylor. His songs have been described as "Jimmy Buffet meets John Prine."

Michael's body of work ranges from traditional folk songs and tender love ballads to alt-country and blues influenced rock. His lyrics may be hopeful, philosophical, whimsical or sad, but are always passionate and powerful. Michael's songs tell stories with sensitivity and humor, and his performances are a comfortable blend of songs and the stories that inspired them.

A founding member of the Garden State Songwriters, Michael's mission is to write, perform, record, promote and encourage original music in the American folk tradition. His newest project is Songwriting with Kids.
