In 1991, Tim Lannen witnessed the 'Under The Bridge' guitar intro on MTV and needed to learn how to play the electric guitar. Fronting the NYC band The Diggs from 2004 to 2009, he honed his songwriting craft during a tumultuous era for the music industry. The Diggs, though underappreciated in their time, were a seminal force in the guitar-driven songcraft scene.
Lannen's lyrics, both poetic and relatable, delve into introspection and confession. His songs often feel like intimate conversations, where he calls himself out for his actions and anxieties—a vulnerability that many listeners find resonant.
Following The Diggs, Lannen explored experimental music, but his songwriting seemed to take a backseat. However, in 2015, he experienced a creative reawakening. His Heaven O'Clock EP marked a return to focused songwriting, infused with a newfound sonic adventurousness.
Lannen's music feels effortless and revelatory, as if the songs have always existed, waiting to be discovered. His ability to make listeners feel more alive and connected is a testament to his songwriting prowess and his enduring impact on the music world.
