Mary Niewola

Mary Niewola writes songs that aim to connect with people and express what is universally felt but not always said out loud. She has an engaging presence and a unique compassion for people that can be felt across the room. She currently makes a living as a lead vocalist in a wedding/party band called The Uptown Getdowns and gigs out several times per week in front of everyone from bar crowds to high class wedding parties. She loves every minute of it.

Although Mary recorded and produced her EP "So Good" at a local studio, the majority of her current work is done at her home studio. She has a background in audio engineering and feels as comfortable behind the DAW as she does in front of the mic.

Writing good songs that that are honest and true is what Mary aims to do every single day. "Every song goes through a process of discovery, gains and losses much like we all do in life," Mary says. "Hopefully the process will make us all more beautiful in the end."
