I'm a Michigan Emmy-winning Irish American songwriter and composer, very influenced by my heritage (including my Canadian bit!) but also working within the parameters of modern folk and 'new trad' music. For many years I've incorporated traditional instruments (fiddle, uilleann pipes, whistles and so on) into my contemporary songs, and for me it works really well.
My most recent project, "The Irishman's Daughter," combines my originals with trad songs and tunes performed from my perspective, which I call "Irishy, folky and Canadianish."
Irish Music Magazine wrote this about the album: "Kitty is making a name for herself in Irish America and you can see why from the high quality of the work here."
