After moving to California from Ireland in 2013 Karl created a buzz in the Bay Area with the Irish-American rock group, "McHugh & Devine". The band toured and released The Movie Blues EP in 2015 and album "Emerald Hills" in 2016. Picking up several awards from Bay Area and international organisations for their song writing, including Adult Contemporary Song of the Year from the Westcoast Songwriters Association. Currently working on his solo project Karl McHugh and the Family Band; a mix of Americana, Folk and Rock harkening back to Johnny Cash and June Carter and throwing in some Glen Hansard for good measure!
Thanks to a Masters in Music and Media Technologies from Trinity College Dublin, Karl has been able to write and produce music that has been placed on nation TV in Ireland. Karl mainly focuses on Folk, rock and pop production.
