John Thomas began writing music on guitar and piano at an early age, but it wasn't until he began playing underground house clubs to pay college tuition he focused and honed his skill and talent. With 15 years of playing, composing, creating, producing, and lyric writing, ghostwriting, and remixing, Thomas still enjoys the artist process daily. He has remixed for artists such as Radiohead, Lana Del Rey, Ezi, Eli and Fur, and others. Thomas's work has appeared in advertising, radio, television, movies, and numerous games. His first full-length score for the movie, Luke and Jo, earned Thomas a nomination for best full-length English Indie Movie Soundtrack. What makes John Thomas unique is his ability to create so many different styles of music while still having a signature touch and sound. His dance tracks and remixes are played in concerts and raves worldwide. His Lo-fi Jazz Hip-hop work is on numerous Chillist playlists and streaming sites. His instrumentals and minimalist compositions, and soundscapes in video games and film. Though he still DJs, Thomas plays a lot with various bands in Austin, Texas, sometimes guitar, sometimes bass, sometimes piano. For 8 years Thomas played with The Echoes, a band that played several ACL and SXSW slots until they disbanded in 2016. Most of the time, you'll catch him reading and teaching literature, playing music, or taking long runs outside with his dog Blue.
