Michael Aranda

Music is the true passion of songwriter/composer Michael Aranda. Michael started his love for music when he was introduced to the violin when he was seven years old. He enjoyed playing in orchestras for his fellow students while attending elementary school. Michael then picked up playing the guitar when he was 12 years old after his uncle took him to see Pink Floyd’s The Wall movie while living in Southern California.

He formed bands and played various genres of music including punk rock, metal, alternative, rock, industrial, industrial metal, gothic, and darkwave. One of his favorite past times was to set up his Roland Juno 60 and play along while watching his favorite Science Fiction movies like Terminator, Cyborg, A Clockwork Orange, and Blade Runner. He always wrote music that people enjoyed.

Michael started recording his own music learning on an old reel to reel four track his father bought while he was in Vietnam. Michael always had a hand-held recorder of some sort to record melodies or strange sounds like trash or cardboard compactors, trains, and highway traffic. He incorporated his samples into the music he wrote and produced.

Michael expanded his recording skills after he built his first home studio. He befriended anyone who had a studio and assisted tracking artists to learn everything he could about recording, mic placements, mixing, and mastering. He then recorded bands for free to help him learn and provide other local musical acts with free demos.

Michael learned about the music business while playing in the band Less Than Under. Less Than Under was a local metal band based in Littleton, Colorado and would sell out venues like The Gothic and The Bluebird. He recorded Less Than Under’s debut album, A Life Less Ordinary and the sophomore follow up Looking Through You which was produced by Ahrue Luster from Ill Nino / Machine Head.

Michael aims to make a musical impact on the TV and Film industry.
