Dylan Garcia keeps going when most won't. Despite his daily battle with a bipolar diagnosis, he won't quit. He shares his mental health journey to help inspire those who need it most.
Dylan became fond of music as a child by bands such as El Chicano and artists, Baby Face and Michael Jackson. His first music instrument was an alto saxophone in middle school band class. He then purchased his first guitar sophomore year at UC Irvine, where he taught himself how to play.
He stuck with the guitar and impressed 5x Latin Grammy Winner, Kenny O'Brien, who began calling him Dylan (after Bob Dylan) because of his voice and it stuck. Dylan also has cut records with Grammy Nominated musician Ronnie King, who Dylan likes to consider a mentor. Dylan was able to complete two records with Ronnie and legendary DJ and Chicano Rap Pioneer, DJ Tony G, which led to Dylan transitioning into the style of music he loves, Funk and Neo Soul.
Dylan hosted and performed last November at Latin Grammy Week, in Las Vegas. He hosted a live music showcase and performed which caught the attention of Kilo (Lean Like A Cholo), who brought him to perform at a Latin Grammy after party. Going into 2023 he performed at the Whisky A GoGo with Afroman in January. Also on 420, he performed with legendary rap group RBL POSSE at the Whisky again. Cinco de Mayo weekend he performed at the Original Lowrider Super Show at the Los Angeles Convention Center for a crowd of over 3500 people. He headlined the Whisky A GoGo on August 5th. He's set to headline again at the Whisky A GoGo June 14th.
