Deer Fellow

Deer Fellow is an indie pop/folk duo with “comforting yet bold musicality.” Based out of Austin, bandmates Matt Salois (vocals, guitar) and Alyssa Kelly (vocals, violin, keys) have built a cross-genre sound that “stirs hearts with each carefully crafted note.” The two's intricate vocal harmonies and unique guitar-violin blends have landed them Official SXSW status as well as features in Earmilk, Austin-American Statesman, KUTX, EASTside Magazine, among many other publications.

Current developments:
This year we have achieved significant success with our single releases and released our first official music video, which has gained a lot of positive attention. Our sophomore EP, Unraveling, has received enthusiastic feedback and has been featured in publications like Earmilk, in addition to being played on local radio stations. We celebrated a sold-out EP release show at the iconic Austin venue The Mohawk, showcasing our growing local support. We are currently collaborating on a project with a music licensing group under Sony Music, which we believe will greatly expand our reach. Additionally, we have worked with Loro Management on artist development and been a Sonic Guild considered artist for 2022, 2023, and 2024. Our debut EP, Words Unsaid, was named one of the top 5 EPs of the year by the Austin American-Statesman, further solidifying our presence. Having completed three successful DIY tours, we’re eager to participate in more festivals in 2025, building on our momentum and connecting with broader audiences.
