Daniel Lerner is an indie rock, pop, and folk artist and songwriter, born and based out of New York. Booking gigs with friends – which were glorified jams with the occasional original song thrown in the mix – served both as performance practice and as an opportunity for Daniel to connect with the local DIY scene. Over time, he began to develop the sound he’s known for. Daniel combines a love for memorable guitar lines, an emphasis on ethereal soundscapes, and lyrics that range from the introspective to the outward-looking. On new EP Decorator, Daniel was inspired by the writing styles of Elliott Smith, Wilco, and Lomelda, resulting in a project that feels at once very intimate and private, while also welcoming and inviting. Each song provides a different perspective and understanding of the same relationship, from the acceptance on “Scene to the Petty Crime,” to the recognition of the role you played in your partner’s life on “Trinket,” to the meditative reflection and best wishes on “Harvest the Moon.”
