God used music to write a love story that all started in 2011 in the writer’s rounds of Music Row in Nashville Tennessee. Allen and Kelly Szyrwiel started playing music and writing songs together and have continued to do so ever since. Kelly has a piano and vocal background and Allen was raised on the drums, eventually picking up the guitar to write music.
After getting married while living in Nashville, the two relocated to southwest Florida and have been writing songs and performing, all while continuing to work in careers that they love. Kelly is a marketing project manager and Allen is a 7th grade ELA teacher. Although their careers have kept them busy, Allen and Kelly still find time to write and record songs, and make videos to share their music.
Both grew up loving 90s rock and alternative music, and that sound is integrated with a love for country music that they discovered while writing and performing with some of the most talented musicians and writers in the United States. They are a melody driven duo that finds inspiration from real life experiences to create meaningful lyrics that everyone can relate to.
Two years ago they released an EP as part of a band called Black Rock Jerica. This summer they will be releasing their first EP as Allen and Kelly with a new song and 5 re-recorded songs from their Nashville days. They are excited to share their music past, present, and future, and will continue to write and perform this music where they now call home in Cape Coral, Florida. God brought them together through music, and Allen and Kelly still have a love for it that they want to share with the world.
Their Christian faith and way of living in recovery is what drives them and they believe that their love for music is all inspired by the grace of Jesus. They have a strong life built around the love of service to others and music is a way for their souls to sing about whatever God inspires them to do.
