Born 1961; Yerevan, Armenia) composer of symphonic and chamber works, and music for film. Also a jazz musician with an academic background (Doctor of Musical Arts in Music Composition), was featured in LA Weekly as “the jazz pick of the week.” Kartalyan’s jazz album was nominated and won at the Armenian Music Awards in 2000. Arranger, orchestrator and pianist, Kartalyan is Music Director for various bands and orchestras based in California. “BEST COMPOSER” AWARDS IN 17 FILM FESTIVALS
