The unusual perspective you hear in Jessica Weinberg’s songs is a product of her unique life story. She was born with a combination of heart defects and after some early struggles, was also diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome, a form of Autism Spectrum Disorder. Instead of allowing her disabilities to be hindrances, she let it be a motivator for her success.
And she has been busy succeeding in life!
In September and October of 2020, Jessica’s songs “What If We Forget,” “Magic and Power, “Better Than That” and “Wondering Why” were played as part of the Women of Substance Music Podcast’s “Music with a Conscience” series. Her songs have also attracted the attention and interest of several of Nashville’s top music publishers through various pitch events.
Jessica obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Creative Writing in 2004 and a Juris Doctor in 2007.
She has worked for various law firms and non-profits, and, since late 2016, has been employed as an administrative assistant at the Lucas County, Ohio, Board of Developmental Disabilities, where she has worked closely with the Superintendent and other top managers.
She is also known in her community as an often-effective advocate for public transportation.
Still, her passion is in her lyrics.
Jessica listened to country and pop music as a young teen and was drawn to the lyrics being sung by '90s stars such as Garth Brooks, Reba McEntire, Trisha Yearwood, Pam Tillis, and Terri Clark. She soon began writing her own songs, offering a perspective on life, love, heartache, and struggle derived from living with potentially life-threatening health conditions and disabilities.
Her focus within the music industry is crystal clear; to write her personal best songs, to continue her in the mastery of the written word and to develop industry relationships in an effort to provide opportunities for those songs.
Jessica's songs are free and clear - not signed or represented by any publisher or publishing entity such as CD Baby, Distrokid, Tunecore etc.
