Melani L. Skybell

Melani L. Skybell is a vocalist pianist, performing either solo or with her jazz group. After working in pop-rock, from San Antonio to Austin, TX, she has performed at all of the top venues in Dallas, and has a show almost every night of the week. Some evenings there is a line to get into clubs to hear her play - not an easy task in a city dominated by C&W.
Melani's repertoire includes her arrangements of traditional jazz standards, sultry ballads, Latin rhythms, and her original material. Melani regularly entertains at Dallas' most popular nightspots, from the Four Seasons Resort to festivals and corporate events in and out of Texas.

Skybell's first recording, "Through The Years," includes one of her originals, and her second release, "My Heart Sings," has continued to sell well. VH1 bought the rights to one of her tracks, "Papa Loves Mambo" (from "My Heart Sings"), which was used for the soundtrack of their movie, "30 Days Until I'm Famous." Her 3rd CD, "Life Is The Song" has received rave reviews. Her 4th CD, "Just A Chase Away," features 8 of her original compositions, with soulful lyrics, polished production and arrangements. Yet, her sound is unforced and maintains that effortless style. As one Dallas critic wrote - "...what a treat for the ears, the mind, and the soul." The single "Days Like This" has sold to successful TV series - one of them "Breaking Bad," and to other media. Her 5th CD., "Too Darn Hot" is an exciting live recording.
