Soul Canvas

Mark (also known as Gersh) has long been captivated by the arts. By the age of 15 he was playing music professionally, and soon went on to play keyboards and horn for the legendary Christian artist, The Bill Gaither Trio, as well as trombone for Philadelphia Sound group the O’Jays. Gersh was also a founding member, keyboardist, and singer with the groundbreaking Christian group Whiteheart, whose career spanned sixteen years and included 11 studio albums, 22 Dove award nods, and two Grammy nominations. During that time he penned over twenty #1 songs for Whiteheart as well as a wide variety of Christian artists while continuing to work in the studio as a player and producer. He also received four gold records for his work as both a player and a writer.

Currently he has embarked on a musical odyssey called soulbreather, a creative journey that includes not only his first book but also recorded music and live performances with his wife Brynn. When not busy writing and recording, Gersh enjoys hanging out with Brynn and their son and daughter-in-law, reading everything under the sun, cheering for the Tennessee Titans, the Indiana Hoosiers in basketball, the Michigan Wolverines in football, and eating ridiculous amounts of Brynn’s gourmet cooking.
