Nasty Geographic is the songwriting project of Detroit-based musician and producer Joe Blackhurst. Joe collaborates with other talented artists on each album with one mission: make the best music possible, free of any clutter caused by focusing on the artist's image at the expense of the songs. Joe believes musicians should create in service to the songs, not for what they can get from the songs.
Since 2016, Nasty Geographic has released over 200 songs across 15 eclectic albums spanning rock, hip-hop, funk, classical, and pop. The recent albums BAD POP and Cartoon Plane Crash made a splash in the indie music scene in Chicago and Detroit. Nasty Geographic's upcoming pop R&B album is scheduled for release in Spring 2024 and features female vocals. "Lips Red" and "The Jacket" are two upcoming singles that can only be heard on TAXI at this time.
