Todd B and Dave Schmidt are the creative forces behind “Funk Around the World”, a dynamic music group blending infectious grooves with global influences. Todd, an accomplished guitarist and composer, brings his deep knowledge of funk rhythms and jazz harmony to the group, while Dave, a versatile saxophonist and producer, infuses their music with innovative textures and captivating horn arrangements. Together, they have crafted a unique sound that transcends borders, spreading the joy of funk and jazz to audiences everywhere.

Todd B is a guitarist and composer who creates exclusive music for media including film, television, ads, and corporate videos. He is a staff composer with several music libraries which specialize in production-based music. He collaborates with other composers from around the globe, producing both vocal and instrumental tracks. Todd B has also composed music for Carl Schurz Music and DSM Producers. He is a highly accomplished player whose bands have fronted for renowned musicians such as Dave Brubeck and blues legend James Cotton. He has studied music with acclaimed jazz teachers Jack Wilkins and Peter Prisco as well as at The Univ. of Miami and The Mannes Co. of Music. Todd B resides in NYC.

Dave Schmidt, a versatile multi-instrumentalist, is renowned for his mastery of the saxophone and has been a mainstay in the Phoenix, AZ music scene for years. Schmidt's distinctive sound blends modern nuances with a straight-ahead jazz approach. Although Schmidt stays very busy in the local Phoenix market, he has had the honor of performing with national touring groups such as The Temptations, Michael Bublé, The Miracles, The Four Tops, Taste of Honey, Peaches & Herb, Heatwave, Sam Moore, Donna Summer, The O'Jays, Deniece Williams, GQ, Manhattans, Pussycat Dolls, Delfonics, Suzanne Somers, any many more. You may even find him center spotlight at various sporting events playing the national anthem!
