Mark Overton Phillips, a native of San Diego, grew up in a house full of music and at ten years old began a life long love of guitar and voice. Since then, Mark has gigged up and down the southern California coastline, as well as San Francisco, Tulsa, the Poconos, New Orleans, and points in between.
His appreciation lies in the delicate vocal harmonies, intricate arrangements, and beautiful melodies of folk, blues, and jazz music. Mark enjoys experimenting with standard tunes as well as creating original compositions and poetry.
In 2012, he began the Jamacha Project with Chris Anderson. The project is dedicated to developing original work by the participants, which includes Chris Anderson, Rodger Ferris, Barry Cogdill, Tom Williamson and others.
