Joel Baker

A singer songwriter from the hills of southern Iowa who has been writing for many years. A talented writer of acoustic based indie rock, adult contemporary, and contemporary folk with a strong vocal presence, Baker’s songs pull you into a story and leave you asking for more. His music hones in on personal experiences that we all can relate to. A unique voice with well crafted lyrics and chord progressions utilizing multiple tunings that emphasize, at times, a dissonance that gives the song a unique fullness that is pleasant to the listener.

Baker has recorded two full length albums. Ready to Begin, recorded in 2013 contains fourteen tracks. Carry On, his second effort which has been recently completed, contains twelve songs.

When he is not writing and recording, he practices family medicine in rural southern Iowa.
