In the over-arching story of our lives, We have always been making music together and horsing around. We grew up in a redneck city that you pass on the highway heading to more important destinations, with all the delicious American chain restaurants. Andrew's from 'town' (aka suburbs) and Sam is from 'the country' (aka a tiny farm). In the boring desolation of youth, we found a deep catharsis with music and its creation.
Music is a means of survival—at least for us, it is. Music keeps us going, gives us hope, and provides a story to live by. It’s a reflection, a meditation, an anthem, and a purpose.
Horsebread was a means of survival; now, it’s not readily available. If you wanted to acquire it, you’d need to spend a lot of time making it yourself or pay top dollar at some niche bakery. We feel like we’re living the story of horsebread. The sentiment is “One man’s trash is another man’s treasure”, and all that—or even “beauty for ashes”, or some shit like that.”
