Danish / British couple launch new duo GlassEar
Musicians who tour the world are forced to maintain relationships with their loved ones
through glass (screens) and ear (phone). This is how the inspiration for the project
GlassEar arose.
After many years of working with names like Robbie Williams, John Grant, ED Sheeran
and Lewis Capaldi, the British music producer, musician and session musician John
Garrison longed for an artistic connection with his partner – the Danish actor, screenwriter
and model Pernille Andersen. This has resulted in a musical duo, who have recorded a
collection of tape-saturated, organic and analogue indie pop songs that bring to mind a
production styles of Tame Impala and the songwriting of Fleetwood Mac.
Their debut EP "Nobody Will Get Out Alive" was released in October with 3 of the tracks being featured on 'New Music Friday' Soptify Denmark and 'New Music Day' on Apple Sweden and Denmark.
The Danish/British couple met in Copenhagen after Pernille was invited to what sounded
like a James Bond premiere over the phone. Instead, she ended up at a James Blunt
concert where she was introduced to Blunt's bassist John. A beautiful example of how
paths crossed by chance can change lives forever. Today, over a decade later, the couple
still live together in Copenhagen with their two young children.
As a solo artist, John has previously released 7 albums, with the latest single from 2021
having more than 100 plays on Denmark’s most listened radio station, P4.
The duo have gigged around Copenhagen and recently sold out Soho House in the city.
