Allen is a multi-instrumentalist / songwriter / composer from Atlanta, Georgia.
Allen began playing drums at age 9, was playing drums in local rock bands at 15 and was head of his high school Drum Corps. at 17. He spent 6 years in school playing percussion in the concert band / orchestra / ensemble.
At 15, he began playing guitar. Since there was always a piano in the house, (Allen's father was a church organist and his mother was a very strong pianist) it was natural for him to spend time (beginning around age 5) playing it and writing music on it.

At 21, Allen stepped out from behind the drums to play keyboards and guitar in an all original rock band in Atlanta named “The Reavers”. Several years later, he and a co-writer signed some songs over to Polygram (Now "Universal") Publishing in Nashville. He's been writing ever since.
